Deck Mode
Turn a dashboard into a slideshow with speaker notes, AI-written slide content, and PPTX export.
Deck mode is a slideshow view of your dashboard — one chart per slide, AI-written insights next to each, and a presenter UI. Good for the meeting after the analysis, where you need a narrative with speaker notes, not a detail-dense report.
Deck and Report share the same generation flow. The difference is the output shape and the export target — Deck produces a PPTX you stand up and present from; Report produces a PDF or DOCX you read.
When to use Deck vs Report
| Use a Deck when… | Use a Report when… |
|---|---|
| You will present live — projector, Zoom, Loom | The artifact is read, not shown |
| Charts carry the story; text is supporting | Prose is primary; charts illustrate |
| You want speaker notes and chart captions | You want headings, sections, tables |
| Output is PPTX for a meeting | Output is PDF or DOCX for an email |
Generating a deck
- From a dashboard, click Present → Generate deck.
- Slides stream in parallel — up to three at a time. As each one completes you see it land in the slide rail.
- The deck costs 3 credits on Standard, 15 on Premium (Credits).
The right panel chat lets you rewrite a single slide (2 credits / 10 Premium) — e.g. "make the takeaway more blunt" or "re-summarize for an exec audience".
Slide types
| Type | Shape | Content |
|---|---|---|
| Title slide | 1 slide | Deck name, subtitle, date, branding footer |
| Chart slides | N slides | One widget chart + 3 bullet insights + optional values inline |
| Insight slides | 0–2 slides | Bulleted takeaways, no chart |
| Summary slide | 1 slide | Closing slide with overall narrative |
The AI picks the mix based on widget count, data domain, and your prompt. You can edit any slide in place before export.
Template values
Chart slides can fill in numbers from the underlying SQL. Bullets like:
Revenue grew by 18% to $2.4M in March.
…are written by the AI as placeholders and filled in with your real numbers before the deck reaches the slide rail. Currency, percent, date, count, and duration formatting all come through correctly.
Presenter mode
Click Present to go fullscreen:
←/→advance slidesEscexits- Speaker notes are visible in the presenter's view, hidden from your audience
PPTX export
Click Export to download a real .pptx:
- Charts are embedded as images
- Text stays native PowerPoint text — selectable and editable in Keynote or PowerPoint
- Speaker notes populate the Notes pane per slide
- Branding (company name, logo) appears on the title slide and footer
Export is free — you already paid credits during generation.
Deck editing
Per-slide chat rewrites content. The editor also lets you:
- Reorder slides (drag)
- Delete or duplicate
- Swap a chart for another widget
- Edit speaker notes inline
- Tweak the deck title and subtitle
Changes are local — no server round-trip until you regenerate or export.
